A report on Calciomercato claims positive discussions have taken place between Spurs and Napoli over a deal for Arkadiusz Milik, with further talks planned for Thursday.

Representatives from the north London club are currently working on the deal in Milan.

Spurs remain in the market for a new No.9 after missing Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min through injury at times last season.

That left Jose Mourinho woefully short of striking options at a critical part of the season. To that end, the Portuguese is determined that will not happen again.

Benfica striker Carlos Vinicius and Wolfsburg frontman Wout Weghorst have both recently been linked with Tottenham. However, Milik has emerged as their number one target.

An initial loan deal is being proposed, with an option to buy. The report adds that confirmation on the deal, one way or another, is expected in the coming days.

 

AURIER TURNS DOWN CHANCE FOR TOTTENHAM EXIT Serge Aurier has turned down a move from Tottenham to Spartak Moscow, according to reports.

The defender looked to have benefitted from the arrival of Spurs boss Jose Mourinho last season.

 

He became a regular in the right-back role after struggling to convince fans following his move from Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 for £24m.

But Mourinho’s faith seems to have wavered.

In the summer, Tottenham snapped up Wolves defender Matt Doherty for a reported fee of £13.4m.

The Republic of Ireland defender has started both Spurs’ Premier League game so far. That included Sunday’s 5-2 rout of Southampton.

Tottenham have also been involved in Europa League action but Aurier has yet to play a part.

Now, Football Insider report that chairman Daniel Levy has arranged a deal for the £15-rated Aurier to join Spartak for a “significant fee”. Read more…
