Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira wants Paul Pogba to lead by example this season.
Pereira, 23, who last week recently penned a new contract at Old Trafford, says he is looking for United’s senior statesmen to take charge this season.
Pereira name-checked Ashley Young, 34, Nemanja Matic, 30, and Pogba, 26, as the three who must lead United from the front.
Pereira told ManUtd.com: “We also have some experienced players like Ashley Young, Nemanja, Paul as well, so it is very important we have all of the boys so they can show us, lead by example and we can follow them.”
Pereira also claimed the morale in the camp was good and quashed rumours of a spat between Pogba and team-mate Jesse Lingard, which was fuelled by a short piece of video footage.
He sadded: “We have a great team spirit, everyone gets along very well. We have a lot of young players and I think it is good.
“We have a lot of energy and people who want to work, to get better every day.”
