United remain locked in talks with the Bundesliga giants in an effort to strike a deal for the England international.

However, the Manchester Evening News says United have become annoyed by the intermediary working on behalf of Dortmund in the talks.

The club have hired Marco Lichtsteiner, brother of former Arsenal defender Stephen, to act as the deal broker. And the newspaper claims United have become angered by the negotiations dragging out.

Talks between the two clubs ramped up last week, when it emerged that the Red Devils and Sancho had agreed personal terms.

The updates since then have been sparse, with reports claiming the transfer fee is the key difference between the clubs. Dortmund want £108million, with United not willing to spend that much in a coronavirus-impacted market.

What’s more, the MEN now claims United find it “unusual” that Dortmund have hired Lichtsteiner to conduct the talks.

The Red Devils are also put off by the agent’s claims that Sancho’s wage demands and the agents’ fees are holding the deal up.

The newspaper adds that United intend not to overpay the agent, a “mistake” made in previous deals.

In any case, Ed Woodward and fellow negotiator Matt Judge have not given up hope of striking a deal, despite Dortmund giving them until Monday to do so.

ZORC MAKES DEFIANT SANCHO CLAIM

What’s more, with United close to missing their deadline, Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc claimed on Monday that Sancho will be at the club next season.

He said: “Jadon Sancho will play with us next season. The decision is final.

“I think that answers all the questions. Last summer we adjusted Jadon’s salary to match the development of his performances.

“So in context, we had already extended his contract until 2023 back then.”
