The Reds have agreed a deal with the Bundesliga outfit to sign the Guinea international in the summer, but there had been reports that they may be able to bring forward the transfer.

However, Leipzig’s CEO Oliver Mintzlaff has scuppered those hopes, telling Bild: “Neither Naby nor his agent have made the request to leave the club in the winter.

“There are contracts, and they say that he will be a Liverpool employee from July 1 onwards.”

Jurgen Klopp was said to be looking at the possibility of bringing in Keita early in case Reds star Emre Can, who is out of contract in the summer, left the club for a cut-price fee in January.

The Germany star has been strongly linked with a move to Juventus, while reports on Tuesday even suggested that Manchester United could make a stunning summer move for the 23-year-old.
