The 17-goal forward has been linked with Newcastle and Leeds, among others and he is out of contract this summer, although the club have an option to extend that deal by a further 12 months.

The 23-year-old has been offered a new deal by the Tigers and they are awaiting his response with just over a week left of the January transfer window.

The club do have the safety net of being able to trigger a 12-month extension to his deal, with March believed to be the cut off point.

Hull boss Grant McCann has always said the club were in “no rush” to extend Bowen’s deal and that  “Jarrod loves it here”.

However, after Thursday’s news conference the Daily Mirror claim Hull are understood to be wary of losing their prized asset on a free and could sell him this month.

McCann though did not say as much publicly at his news conference, ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup clash with Chelsea.

McCann said: “No bids for Jarrod, nothing has come to me.

“As has been well publicised, a new and improved offer has gone to Jarrod and we’re just waiting to hear back from that.”

Hull boss Grant McCann admits the Tigers may have to sell striker Jarrod Bowen if he does not accept their offer of a new deal. Bowen has attracted interest from Leeds, but McCann says Hull have not received any offers.

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa insists is well aware of the attacker and ahead of the two clubs meeting before Christmas, he said: “You know how he plays. This season we can see a lot of good attackers in every team. And in most of the teams, not just those at the top.

“This is a very good player who unbalances the team. And he scores because he has a good shot.”
