Arsenal front-man Alexandre Lacazette will remain on the sidelines until at least October for Unai Emery’s side, but exciting attacking full backs Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney have both returned to full training.
The Gunners will look to put the disappointment of throwing away a two-goal lead to Quique Sánchez Flores’s team behind them tomorrow when they kick off their Europa League campaign versus Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt.
A series of defensive blunders let the Hornets back into the encounter, with the men from Vicarage Road counting themselves unlucky they did not emerge with all three points after peppering Bernd Leno’s goal with 31 shots.
The blossoming threesome of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Nicolas Pepe and Alexandre Lacazette will be put on hold for a few weeks more with the club’s official website releasing a statement stating: “Alex continues to rehabilitate the injury to his left ankle and is likely to be back in action in October.”
Good news has sprung for Gunners fans, however, with the return of defensive reinforcements in Bellerin and Tierney.
The article listed both players as being “Back in full training with the first-team squad.”
Tierney is yet to make his Arsenal debut after suffering from a groin complaint, while Spaniard Bellerin has returned following a length lay off due to a knee injury.
Tomorrow’s clash with Frankfurt will come too soon for the full-back duo, but any good news on the defensive front will be welcomed by Arsenal fans given recent developments.
