Arsenal have been handed a major boost ahead of their clash against Newcastle at the weekend as a midfielder is set to return.
The Uruguayan central midfielder is yet to start for Arsenal since his summer move from Sampdoria, but has impressed from the bench.
Torreira was substituted at half-time in a game against Mexico and appeared on the bench in the second half wearing an ice pack on his leg.
The Sun did claim that he would not be fit for the trip to Tyneside at the weekend, but could be fit to start in the Europa League the following Thursday.
However, a recent post from manager Unai Emery on Twitter seems to suggest that Torreira is in contention for the game.
Emery tweeted a photo with the 22-year-old fourth from the left, along with the caption: “Focused on our improvement @Arsenal, focused on @NUFC.”
